CEO YMCA: Family YMCA of Bartlesville Location: Bartlesville, OK Job Description: Position Description and Board Expectations: The board and staff of the Family Y of Bartlesville (OK) seek a new leader to work together to create a new vision for the Y and then develop and implement an action plan to realize that vision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to build something that will be a long-lasting contribution to the community, while at the same time serving as a stepping stone to further Y professional advancement. The CEO is expected to be a team builder - both with the staff and with the board. The CEO will need to assess the strengths of the current staff, and form and develop a team that will help the Y achieve its vision. The board is looking for a strong and confident leader who will run the day-to-day operations of the Y so that the board can fulfill its responsibilities as a strategic partner with the CEO in realizing the mission of the Y in Bartlesville. Strong fiscal management skills are critical, as is experience in financial development. It is anticipated that an improved financial situation and continued growth in the annual campaign will lead to capital development within the next 3-5 years. There is a very good opportunity for a successful capital campaign if the Y's case is strong. Likewise, it will be critical for the new CEO to become involved and visible in the community in order to advocate for the Y and build relationships with community leaders and prospective major donors. First year key deliverables include an assessment of the Y's current operations and organizational structure followed by a plan to strengthen those areas that need improvement. The operational assessment should include a review of the Y's membership practices and programs to assure quality Y experiences for those the Y serves. The new CEO will need to be directly involved in the financial management of the Y to assure a balanced budget. The CEO will also be expected to provide professional leadership to assure the Y achieves its financial development goals for the year. In addition, the CEO will work with the board in meeting and beginning to establish relationships with key stakeholders in the Bartlesville community. It is hoped that with the CEO's success in providing leadership in these areas during the first year, the Y can begin capital development discussions in the subsequent year.
