Location: St. Louis, MO

Job Description:

Under the direction of the District Director of Child Care Services or Designee, the incumbent will be responsible for the administration, management, marketing, and program development of the following departments: Y Club, Camps and Family ensuring all safety procedures and program quality standards are followed per YMCA policies and procedures. He/She needs to be able to hire, supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate a staff team while modeling, practicing and carrying out the "Y" values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be able to establish relationships with the general public, schools, families, and other organizational and community leaders.

  • Knowledge and ability to budget, market and plan quality programs.

  • Must have strong communication, organizational and marketing skills.

  • Must have a positive, enthusiastic and outgoing personality.

  • Must be able to hold staff and children accountable and carry out disciplinary procedures in a calm manner.

  • Ensures YMCA Policy and Procedures and all licensing or accreditation requirements are met.

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all school personnel, superintendents, instructors, and community.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned and/or specified by the designee.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • College Degree or equivalent that meets guidelines of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Physical Education or Recreation emphasis preferred.

Experience:

  • Must pass DHSS Child Abuse Screening, local law enforcement records check and Child Care registry.

  • Must have strong communication, verbal and written skills to establish relationships with the general public, other organizations and the community.

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Must have the ability to budget, market and plan quality programs.

  • Must have basic computer knowledge.

  • Must be committed to adhering to association Code of Ethics.

Special skills, Licenses, Certifications or Equipment:

  • Certified in CPR PR, AED, Oxygen, and First Aid (must be certified within 30 days of employment)

  • Principles of Child Care (60-90 days)

  • Working with 5-12 year olds (within 6 months)

  • School Age Child Care Director (within 1 year)

Salary: $28,200 - $34,100
