CEO/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR YMCA: Mercer County Family YMCA Location: Aledo, IL Job Description: The Mercer County Family YMCA Board of Directors is searching for their next Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director to continue the strong tradition of success and ensure a culture of inclusion, integrity, character, and life-long learning within the Mercer County Family YMCA and the communities it serves. The Y is now seeking an individual to be the Y's next CEO/ED. This person must be able to build and expand upon the Y's rich, longstanding traditions and service to the community that have given the Y its deserved position of influence throughout Mercer County, Illinois. The new CEO/ED will lead the organization, its staff, volunteer board and members in promoting the Y brand and community image while expanding programs and services to address community needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to create successful and strategic relationships with influential leaders and members of the community and an ability to leverage those relationships to enhance support for the Y mission. The Y's success and future growth is reliant on productive partnerships with not-for-profit organizations, the public sector and private business, therefore candidates will be evaluated on their prior experience and success in these areas. The Y has a board of directors and staff team that have positioned the organization to be one of the community's assets in Aledo. The CEO/ED must be visible not only within the Y but out in the community the Y serves. The new CEO/ED will need to continue to develop and nurture the board and staff team. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to identify the competencies and expertise required by the organization and attract the talent needed to achieve the organization's goals. This individual will ensure that staff performance and development leads to superior outcomes in programs, member satisfaction and community engagement. The CEO/ED is expected to be highly visible in the community, ensuring that the Y remain a highly respected and desired partner with a strong stake in identifying and addressing the solutions for community issues. Candidates must be able to implement and direct fundraising programs and practices that ensure public and private resources are available to support operational and capital needs. The Y currently has a strategic plan, but the incoming CEO/ED is expected to work with volunteer leaders and key staff to update the roadmap to identify and address opportunities and challenges facing the organization. Candidates must demonstrate prior success in planning, leading staff in the development and implementation of goals through an annual operating plan and working with volunteers to align the tactics of committees and their charts of work with the the strategies and goals of the organization. The CEO/ED is expected to be the face of the organization, able to develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, upholding the highest standards and values of the Y; able to maintain a culture of integrity, high ethical standards, accountability and performance, creating a spirit of inclusiveness, mission and cause that reinforces, encourages, and promotes values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 Additional Compensation Details: Medical Insurance: Association is exploring the addition of health benefits by January 1, 2014. A cash allowance will be provided to offset the expense until coverage is secured by the Association. Retirement: 8% if eligibility requirements are met; 403(b) Smart Account Savings offered at time of employment LTD: Offered per personnel policy Life Insurance: Offered per personnel policy Vacation: Full-time employees accrue and are eligible to use paid vacation based on the scheduled service length.
