Job Description:

The YMCA/JCC of Greater Toledo is looking to fill the Executive Director position at its Eastern Community Branch. We are looking for an Executive Director who can create a culture of excellence within the YMCA, guide us into the future, help us support our membership and strengthen our position as the largest membership-based, community service organization in the area. The Eastern Community Branch is located in a stable suburban community and has a budget of $2.6 million.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

We seek an enthusiastic, well-organized, self-motivated individual capable of developing and providing visionary leadership and mobilizing community resources. Highly motivated volunteers want a dynamic leader capable of assuming a high-visibility role in the community and moving the Branch to the next level. Position requires demonstrated success with operations and fiscal management, membership and program planning and development, annual campaign, staff development, board and volunteer relations, and the development of strong community relationships.

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 5 years of extensive, successful management and supervisory experience. In addition, he/she will have a positive history of leadership in the areas of volunteer and staff development, budget and fiscal management, financial development, strategic planning and community development. Organizational Leadership Certification preferred. Must have initiative, good judgment and ability to make decisions independently as well as strong public relations skills with excellent written and oral presentation skills. Competent computer skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a high volume of work.

JOB SEGMENTS:

  • Direct the financial development activities of the branch including membership and program growth as well as the Annual Campaign success.
  • Develops, manages and monitors the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
  • Develops and directs high quality relationship-based engagement strategies. Models relationship building skills(including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community
  • Work with staff to develop and implement approved membership strategies and campaigns.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the mission, goals and strategies.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA/JCC in the local community and develops maintains, and models positive collaborative working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and government entities.
  • Coordinate staff and volunteer development, including recruitment, team building, training, evaluation, recognition, terminations, etc.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team of the YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo and other association responsibilities as assigned.
  • Oversee management and maintenance of facility and equipment, ensuring high quality, safe facilities, grounds and equipment.

Provides tools and resources for the development of others.

Operational Effectiveness: Integrates multiple thinking processes to make decisions. Involves members and community in the development of programs and activities. Ensures execution of plans. Institutes sound accounting procedures, investment policies and financial controls. Assigns clear accountability and ensures continuous improvement.

Personal Growth: Fosters a learning environment embracing diverse abilities and approaches. Creates a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change. Anticipates challenges that can sidetrack or derail growth and personal learning. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000
