Job Description:

The McBurney YMCA is seeking an experienced professional who will be responsible for branch's youth program development and management. The Youth & Family Director will oversee all youth, staff and volunteers, budget preparation and management, implementation and as overall management of government contracts development, NYS and City Health Code compliance, ACA and community outreach. The incumbent will carry out the mission and vision of the YMCA and demonstrate the YMCA values in all contacts with staff, members, volunteers, government agencies and members of the community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, recommend and implement a comprehensive youth and family program plan which considers space utilization, equipment needs, budget requirements, safety and emergency procedures, YMCA values and quality standards.
  • Plan, implement, supervise and evaluate: Early Learning Program, Afterschool, summer, family and teen programs.
  • Develop, track and manage departmental and government contract budget in accordance with Branch, Association and regulatory compliance.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers. Ensure staff members complete all YMCA required training programs.
  • Regularly review all programs for Association and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, market and implement youth, family and teen programs.
  • Conduct annual staff and participant evaluations.
  • Write funding proposals.
  • Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings and special events.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Human Services, Education or Social Work; MS in Education or Social Work preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience supervising youth programs and staff.
  • Knowledge of program planning, implementation and management; staff supervision, and budgeting.
  • YMCA Team Leader certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills a must.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary: $49,121 - $61,401
