Job Description:

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven leader to serve as Executive Director of the Shady Grove Family YMCA. The Shady Grove Family YMCA is vibrant, 68,000 square foot full-service suburban Y with an annual budget of $6.6 million, serving individuals and families through programming in Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility.

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is a nonprofit organization with the goal of strengthening the foundations of community. We do this through programs that help build a healthy mind, body and spirit for all, and our programs are built around our three focus areas: Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility. The Y is open to all, and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our members and employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Executive Director will oversee and implement strategic growth and planning for the Shady Grove Family YMCA.
  • The Director will focus on staff development, building community relationships, capital fundraising and board development for the Shady Grove branch.
  • The position involves a high level of community visibility, and the incumbent must be available to lead and attend various special events and programs supporting the Y.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required qualifications include a minimum of five years of demonstrated leadership and managerial level experience in fundraising, board and volunteer development, and staff supervision.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and extensive experience managing a budget.
  • The most qualified candidates will have directly related experience in all phases of fundraising and campaign management and cultivating volunteers, as well as previous experience managing within the nonprofit environment.

Salary: $85,000 - $85,000

Additional Compensation Details:

Minimum salary is $85,000, plus complimentary family metro-wide Y membership, medical, dental and 12 percent employer-paid retirement fund, upon vesting.
