Job Description:

The Flatbush YMCA seeks an experienced and energetic individual to provide direction and leadership to membership and programs, and contribute to the success of the Association's member retention by ensuring quality member service and member satisfaction. Responsibilities include member safety, program development, implementing membership best practices and building member relationships, human resources, facility management, strategic planning, volunteer/committee development and budget control. Details of this exciting employment opportunity are noted below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure members receive premiere service by monitoring adherence to membership policies, procedures, best practices and standards.
  • Assist the Executive Director in program, membership, staff, volunteer and financial development.
  • Conduct annual staff evaluations.
  • Oversee Healthy Lifestyles and Member Services.
  • Develop, track and control the department budget in accordance to Branch & Association Guidelines.
  • Coordinate member development through stronger communication and special events by providing member involvement activities.
  • Ensure staff members attend trainings related to their realm of expertise in order to further develop their skills.
  • Serve as an active member of the Senior Staff Team and all related Association leadership teams.
  • Assist with marketing for programs and membership.
  • Hold regularly scheduled meetings with department staff.
  • Work within the community to foster a positive image of the YMCA to encourage good public relations.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA of NASM certifications preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of program planning, budget preparation and control, volunteer recruitment, financial development and sales.
  • MS Office skills required.
