Job Description:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communication or related field
  • Two years of experience in web design, development and implementation for business operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with social media, preferably in a business setting
  • Knowledge of HTML, Adobe PDF, MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook and experience with image creation and manipulation
  • Availability and willingness to work outside traditional business hours and travel, as needed, to meet the needs of the organization

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong listening, analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong language skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills
  • Ability to effectively implement the marketing and communications needs in an online format
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner at all levels in the organization and maintain professional confidentiality
  • Must be able to work in an unsupervised environment, perform job duties efficiently/accurately/timely
  • Strong collaborative work style in both a team setting and within a chain of command
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Able to pick up new technologies and become an expert in their usage
  • Able to bring a strong work ethic and a forward-looking attitude to a new direction in the communication needs of the organization
  • Able to represent the constituent viewpoint in communicating the mission, programs and activities of the YMCA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall - To provide research, analysis, recommendations and execution of electronic communication, through existing and emerging tools, toward the goal of improvement in the YMCA member and prospective member experience
  • Monitor and maintain the YMCA of Greater Louisville website, through updates of both Branch and Association content on a daily basis
  • Create new web content, adapt and fix inconsistencies with existing content
  • Continually upgrade different elements of the web sites including, HTML authoring, designing new web pages, graphics, and navigation
  • Communicate with association and branch staff on a daily basis to update electronic information
  • Work with internal clients (technology/branch membership and program teams/marketing team) to gather feedback and implement solutions
  • Work with the operations and marketing/communication teams to ensure a consistent message across all aspects of the web site
  • Monitor competitive sites and stay abreast of ever-changing electronic trends
  • Understand member and staff needs and internalize requirements to develop solutions
  • Work collaboratively with operations and marketing to select target audiences, schedule, produce and implement email promotions consistent with guidelines established for communication with targeted audiences
  • Maintain and execute active interactive communication through social media on behalf of the YMCA and assist other staff in doing the same
  • Monitor social media for consistent positive impressions of the YMCA and assist in responses needed to maintain that impression
  • Assist with the implementation of Association and branch marketing plans through use of approved electronic media
  • Operates at all times within directives and policies of the Association

Salary: $35,000 - $35,000
