Job Description:

The YMCA of Greater New York reaches half a million New Yorkers through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The McBurney YMCA seeks an experienced and energetic individual to provide leadership to Branch membership operations. Responsibilities include achieving goals related to member acquisition, service, satisfaction and retention. Details of this exciting employment opportunity are noted below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure members receive premiere service by monitoring adherence to membership policies, procedures, best practices and standards.
  • Recruit, develop, train, evaluate and supervise membership staff and volunteers as well as ensure that staff is properly qualified. Lead team to ensure all membership goals are met.
  • Develop, track and control the department budget.
  • Serve as a branch liaison to the Association's Membership Cabinet.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts and annual sustaining campaigns with a focus on Members as Donors.
  • Work within the community to foster a positive image of the YMCA to encourage good public relations.
  • Attend trainings, seminars and conferences related to membership.
  • Set annual priority objectives-improve service based on member feedback and annual staff evaluations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Minimum of five years of sales, member/customer service supervisory experience.
  • Supervision of a 3000 or more membership unit YMCA or equivalency preferred.
  • Experience in fiscal management of a $3 million or more membership or sales budget preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of generating leads and closing sales.
  • Experience in generating revenue and hitting targeted revenue goals.
  • Completion of YMCA S.M.A.R.T. and 'Listen First' training a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and sales background.
  • MS Office skills required. Knowledge of AS400 and/or Oracle is desired.
