MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR II

Job Description:
Basic Assignment
Reporting to the Development Director the Marketing & Communications Director is responsible for the development of the overall marketing and communications in membership, programs, and services. The Director is responsible for ensuring quality branch customer service, facility promotion, member retention, member and staff communications, and branch public relations. Will assist in development, administration and coordination of all branch events and give direction and leadership to the communication and marketing messaging.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications or related filed required and a minimum of 3 years experience in marketing and communications
- Proven ability to create and implement a system to manage a high volume of projects.
- Must have the ability to engage and motivate YMCA volunteers and key community leaders
- Exemplary communicator with excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proven results in the areas of program/event marketing and planning
- Professional demeanor and ability to work successfully with the public, staff and volunteers
- Must possess a variety of skills including public relations, sales, effective written and oral communication, problem solving, record keeping, photography, basic graphic design and use of computers
- Familiarity and experience with Photoshop, QuarkXpress and/or In Design, and Final Cut
- This position also requires the visual and auditory ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
- Experience managing and developing six figure budgets.
- Familiarity with branding standards and graphic guidelines.
- Proven experience with graphic design and general marketing principles.
- Ability to think critically and identify both opportunities and areas of deficit.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate staff.
Major Functions
- Support Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator with branch marketing pieces, website maintenanceand work-orders ensuring that all graphic and voice messages fall within marketing guidelines
- Develop ongoing communication of the Y brand to the branch ensuring guidelines are followed
- Responsible for the development of branch social media and updates
- Assists all department program directors with their marketing needs and cross-marketing with membership marketing pieces
- Attend and participate in management meetings.
- Represent the Branch as needed in the community through various groups, organizations, coalitions, etc.
- In consultation with the Development Director attend training, meetings, retreats, and conferences that are beneficial to personal and professional growth.
Salary: $43,250 - $57,875
