COUNSELOR/INSTRUCTOR

YMCA: Edwin W. Brown Branch YMCA

Location: West Palm Beach, FL

Job Description:

Child CPR and First Aid certified
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year experience in Childcare facility working directly with school age children
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass aLevel II background screening
Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours and engage in outside activities with the children

The After SchoolCounselors are required to have 40-hour childcare training that is mandated by the state of Florida.

Description The YMCA in Palm Beaches seeks After School Counselors to work in our after school programs for the upcoming school year 2012-2013. Our Counselorsare responsible for working directly with an assigned group of15-25 school age children at a licensed child care facility. TheAfter SchoolCounselors at the YMCA are responsible for thesafety of the children in the program as they engage them in various planned activities that include:homework assistance, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, reading, andother educationalgames and activities. Counselors must be role models and must have the ability to relate to school age children.
