The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to be our next Director of Membership & Healthy Lifestyles at the North YMCA Family Center. Our YMCA association is located in the center of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and is full of exciting opportunities for both individuals and families. The North YMCA Family Center serves approximately 1,600 membership units and is an integral part of the community, providing a wide range of programs and services to a diverse population. The Director of Membership & Healthy Lifestyles, reporting directly to the Executive Director, has primary responsibility in administering all functions related to member services and health & wellness including accomplishing monthly membership goals, corporate membership development, member retention, welcome center operations, and assist with the development of innovative wellness initiatives and programs.   • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, kinesiology or equivalent experience
  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred

  • Understanding of the nature of the YMCA as a membership organization and the programs associated with membership

  • Ability to train fitness center and group exercise instructors

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Possess skills in or have the ability to gain knowledge in budgeting, fiscal tracking, financial development, hiring and supervision of staff, planning and organizing, member enrollment and marketing

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve results

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA membership and health and wellness programs

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Daxko preferred 

  • Work to coordinate all membership systems and procedures relative to recruiting, retaining, and recapturing members.
  • Develop, implement, and manage health and wellness programs, complying with all Association standards and safety procedures.

  • Create a member-focused culture and model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Foster a climate of innovation and resolve problems to ensure member satisfaction.

  • Develop, produce and disseminate appropriate program information in order to promote health and wellness to the public and to current members.

  • Work with executive and family center team to communicate all membership campaigns and events.

  • Work to meet all sales and retention goals, minimizing terminations.

  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and supervising member services and wellness staff; develop strategies to motivate staff to reach goals.

  • Lead assigned aspects of annual support campaign efforts.

  • Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manage and implement the approved budget for membership and wellness

  • Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations.

  • Work to identify new memberships through YMCA corporate membership programs.

  • Work effectively with volunteers, committees, and community partners.

  • Maintain fitness equipment and facilities, including purchasing recommendations, maintenance and repairs.

  • Monitor daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
