Job Description and Required Certifications: Please Note: This is a full-time exempt position (5 months in Fremont, MI and 7 months in Evanston, IL). The Program Manager, Camp Echo Summer Programs is responsible for the continuity and quality of Camp Echos Main Camp and Family Camp programs, including Camp Echos Layover and Equestrian program add-ons, through direct supervision of the various persons who are hired as seasonal Program Coordinators and continuous improvement of program offerings. During the non-summer, the Summer Programs Manager takes the lead on marketing and communications with campers and parents, including Camp Echo website and social media updates; online camper registration; facilitation of Camp Echo Camper Committee; staff recruitment, interviewing, and hiring; and contracts or orders for summer buses, horses, and other necessary program equipment purchases. The Summer Programs Manager plans and leads summer camp and family camp staff trainings, and is responsible for overseeing the standards of the Michigan Camp Licensing Department and the American Camp Association related to the programs listed above. The Summer Programs Manager is required to live at Camp Echo from May 15th to September 15th, and may be asked to participate in other programs at camp during April, May, and September on an as-needed basis; room and board is provided whenever required to be on camp. Days/Hours: 40 hours a week, days vary (on-call 24/7 when programs are in session) Experience/Education/Certification Requirements: Age 21 or older [Michigan Camp Licensing Requirement]; college graduate preferred 3 summers experience in a leadership role at Camp Echo or an equivalent summer camp 3 summers of successful implementation of Camp Licensing and ACA standards 3 summers experience, or 2 school years experience, with child behavior management Proven track record measuring program outcomes Proven track record developing and executing innovative new programs to meet evolving needs Proven track record with training and development of high school-age and college-age seasonal staff Certified in CPR, AED, Standard First Aid, and Lifeguard Strong Computer Skills: Word, Excel, and adept at web-based databases and platforms Highly organized and detail-oriented; proven track record of follow-through on projects A commitment to diversity, the YMCA core values, and the mission of the YMCA
Salary Information: $41,000-$51,250
