Job Description and Required Certifications: An Amazing Opportunity Beginning March 2014 for a year-round, full-time Camp Food Service Director at YMCA Camp Chingachgook on Lake George Live and work on beautiful Lake George in New York's Adirondack Mountains with endless wilderness recreation opportunities right outside your door. YMCA Camp Chingachgook is seeking a motivated and professional leader to direct all aspects of food service for our camp operations. The Food Service Director supervises kitchen staff, develops menus, and oversees meal preparation and service for summer camp (1500 meals per day), outdoor education groups, banquet functions and catering events throughout the year. The Food Service Director is also a key leader in the planning and implementation of the North American Camp Food Service Conference, hosted annually at Chingachgook. Chingachgook serves over 11,000 children and adults each year in summer camp, school outdoor education, family and adult retreat programs. Our 200-acre site, surrounded on three sides by forever wild forest preserve, has over 90 buildings and $7 million of new facility improvements, with many new program facilities planned for the future. Camp Chingachgook is owned and operated by the Capital District YMCA, one of the fastest growing, highest quality YMCAs in the country. We are offering an amazing benefit package worth well over $60,000 per year, including a year-round home (utilities included); a salary range of mid $30,000's to mid $40,000's depending on qualifications; health insurance; four weeks paid vacation; retirement benefit that includes a 403(b) plan and 12% company-paid retirement plan; life and disability insurance; meals for you and your family when customers are in camp; and a supportive camp community in an inspirational natural setting.
