Camp Description: The New York YMCA Camp serves a diverse group of children composed mostly of New York City children in a globally diverse community built upon the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our goal is for each child to enjoy safe adventures, make new friends and have joyful experiences every day. Come join our camp family for one of the most challenging, fun and rewarding summers of your life. The New York YMCA Camp is located on 1,100 forested acres 86 miles northeast of New York City where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania share a border.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The YMCA of Greater New York is the largest youth-service organization in NYC. The organization has grown to encompass 21 branches and more than 140 sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City in addition to three camp sites and an upstate conference center. The New York YMCA Camp, located in upstate New York, is seeking qualified individuals who will be responsible for planning and implementing evening, weekend and special event programs throughout the summer. Responsibilities: • Ensure that campers have a safe, healthy, enjoyable and beneficial experience. • Provide activity leadership in a manner which promotes safety, fun and education. • Coordinate the planning and implementation of special event activities, weekends, campfires and evening programs. • Assist with staff supervision through Manager on Duty, night rounds and general supervision. • Communicate daily any concerns, regarding campers, co-worker or facilities to supervisor. • Maintain cleanliness of program areas. • Strive to be a positive role model at all times through daily interactions with campers, parents, guests and co-workers. Qualifications: • High School Diploma, one year of college preferred. • Experience planning and implementing games, activities and events for large number of people. • Previous experience supervising numerous staff and working with children. • Excellent communication skills.

Salary Information: $250.00 P/W
