Camp Description: Camp Ohiyesa is a year-round site providing summer camps for children, outdoor education for schools; fall, winter, and spring conference programs, and YMCA parent/child and family groups. Camp Ohiyesa, a 300-acre camp, approximately an hours drive northwest of Detroit, MI.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The Executive Director of Camp Ohiyesa serves as the supervisor of all camping activities at YMCA Camp Ohiyesa located in Holly, Michigan. This position is responsible for all camping activity and building a suitably experienced team to run all camping activities at the camp year around including day camp, summer youth resident camping, group camping, outdoor education and other mission-related camp activities. In addition, the Executive Director of Camp Ohiyesa is responsible for all fundraising and advisory board development activities related to Camp Ohiyesa as well as the financial budgeting for the camps. The Executive Director works closely with policy volunteers and staff in identifying and developing programs and activities in concert with YMCA and Y-Camping ENTRY REQUIREMENTS This position requires a Bachelors Degree preferably in education, outdoor education, recreation or a related field and at least 5 seasons of senior administrative or supervisory experience in an organized camp. Experience should be in the area of program management, particularly Y Resident Camp, Day Camp, and/or Outdoor Education, with at least 10 years of total camping experience. The incumbent must possess a variety of skills including leadership development, financial development, group work, communication, program planning and management, fiscal control, promotion and public relations, administration, and the recruitment, training, and evaluation of volunteers and staff. This position requires an understanding of the YMCA movement. Current First Aid and CPR is required.
Salary Information: $45,000 - $55,000 depending upon experience (housing included)
