Camp Description: YMCA Storer Camps is a branch of the YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo. The association is comprised of 11 branches located throughout the Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan Area. The association is recognized as a leader in the region in child development, wellness services, aquatics, gymnastics, urban work, and healthy living. The association has developed exceptional partnerships in the community with many partners resulting in facility developments, youth development programming, and a collaborative effort on healthy living. YMCA Storer Camps is one of the premier YMCA camps in the country. Founded in 1918, Storer Camps has a rich legacy of strong program development and innovation. Originally a summer camp for boys, in 1968 Storer started operating year-round hosting girls and boys, schools, families, churches, scouts, and other groups in its three core program areas: Traditional Summer Camp, The Storer Outdoor School, and Specialty Programs/Group Retreats. Annually the camp has 16,000 participants taking up residence for a collective 100,000 nights. YMCA Storer Camps is the beneficiary of tremendous support from its alumni. They view camp as a critical element of successful youth development and back that with their financial support. In the last 15 years, over 10 million dollars has been invested in facility and equipment development. Camp is located on 1200 acres including a 240 acre lake near Jackson, Michigan and includes a total of 108 buildings, one of which is Storers first Net Zero Energy Prototype Lodge and Renewable Energy Demonstration Classroom. Storer Camps has an annual operating budget of $3.85 million, 30 full time employees, 20 part time year-round employees and 130 part time seasonal employees. Storer Camps has been blessed with strong tenured program staff. In addition to program quality, camp operations are exceptional.

Job Description and Required Certifications: Under the direct supervision of the President, the Executive Director will oversee day to day camp operations including camp enrollment, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, operational fiscal management, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Developing and implementing growth strategies resulting in full use of the capacity of facilities will be a primary measure of success. A primary focus will be on significantly increasing enrollment of our tradition Resident Camp Program. The Executive Director will provide support in the areas of board and financial development and strategic planning. Qualifications At least 10 years of senior administrative or supervisory experience in related field that demonstrates past success in managing an operation of similar size and scope. We encourage all candidates, regardless of their history of resident camp experience. Strong experience in motivating others. Candidate will be required to motivate and inspire many distinct groups including volunteers, staff, professionals, parents and youth. Successful fiscal management and growth. Demonstrated experience in building a cohesive staff team in a highly complex environment. Including a strong record of developing staff to their fullest potential. Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a high volume of work. Excellent written and verbal communication. Excellent customer service, sales, problem solving, interpersonal, organizational and public relations skills. Fluent in Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook, social media and other management software. Essential Functions 1. Ensures continuous improvement and growth by creating a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change, by fostering a climate of innovation to develop camper-focused programs that support the Y mission, goals, and strategies. 2. Continue to develop a culture of innovation while maintaining legacy traditions. 3. Serve and lead marketing efforts to maximize camp enrollment. 4. Develop and implement a strong Branch Board of Managers in coordination of total association board development effort. 5. Serve as visible figure head for YMCA Storer Camps. 6. Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets. 7. Oversees hiring, training, development and supervision of staff. 8. Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment. 9. Directs on site volunteer activities of camp including but not limited to facility, office, and program volunteers. Participates in the activities of volunteer committees as requested. 10. Serves as a member of the Y management and supports the overall objectives of the Y including support of Y/JCC Metro leadership staff in strategic planning efforts, all philanthropic endeavors, and development of the annual operating goals of the camp. 11. Models relationship building skills in all interactions w/staff, volunteers, campers and parents, and the community. Displays the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at all times. 12. Represents and promotes the Y in the local community and develops positive working relationships w/other organizations, businesses, and government entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships w/community agencies in service delivery area. 13. Interprets, communicates, and promotes the objectives, facility, and programs of the Association to the member/guest groups, targeted audiences and the community through public communication media and such other means as seem appropriate. 14. Responsible for strict adherence to all policies, licensing and accreditation requirements, and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations. 15. Reviews and evaluates the enrollment, programs, and services and communicates findings and recommendations. 16. Responsible for other duties and projects as necessary to achieve goals and priorities of the Association.
Salary Information: Salary Range - $60,000 - $80,000. Also includes housing and other benefits as outlined in Personnel Policies.
