Camp Description: Camp Cha-La-Kee is located on beautiful Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Alabama. Camp Cha-La-Kee offers overnight resident camp, day camp activities for YMCA day campers, weekend retreats, group camping (i.e. church and corporate groups) and outdoor education programs. Activities on the 61-acre campus include canoeing, horseback riding, High and low ropes, archery, boating, blob, swimming and arts & crafts

Job Description and Required Certifications: Responsibilities: The Director of Camping Services is responsible for: Communicating, Cultivating, Educating and Implementing the missions, goals, and values of the YMCA within the community of the branch's service area. Being involved in all aspects of Camp Cha-La-Kee programing, management, marketing & promotion, staffing and training. Design and implementation of program applications, camper/parent satisfaction, supervision of staff, fiscal management and fundraising. Lead the planning process of program expansion to meet the needs of program participants and the community into the future. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Two (2) of more years of supervisory / programming experience in a resident camp setting preferred. Demonstrated record of individual development and ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. Specific aquatic knowledge is required including lifeguarding certifications and lifeguard supervision certification is preferred. Certified Pool Operator Certification is preferred. High / low ropes experience preferred. Must have a basic understanding of food service and food safety, Serve Safe certification preferred. Valid boater's license preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Daxco Member ST proficiency preferred. Additional Compensation Details: Benefits include retirement contribution of 12%; portion paid health/dental (BC / BS of Alabama), long term disability, short term disability, life insurance and 100% paid basic life insurance.

Salary Information: $45,000 - $54,000 annually
