Please join us at our Job Fair on Thursday May 16, 2013 at our Bayside (Barrington,RI) location from 10:00AM-12:00PM and from 6:00PM-9:00PM. Our staff will be there to collect resumes and conduct interviews. Please bring a copy of resume and certifications!

Job Description and Required Certifications: ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES include but not limited to: Responsible for the health and safety of all individuals in the pool, i.e. caution regarding unsafe practices and conditions and perform rescue/first aid when necessary. Report accidents and injuries and complete incident reports. Responsible for the cleanliness of the pool and surrounding area, which may include the monitoring of Ph value and chlorine content of the pool water. Responsible for adherence to operational procedures regarding opening and closing of the pool as well as proper use and storage of equipment. Report maintenance or safety issues to Aquatics Director. Support aquatics instructors needs in the pool during class. Responsible for attending staff meetings/events. Demonstrate and teach the Character Development Program values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty. Responsible for arriving prepared for the scheduled shift, which includes arriving for duty 15 minutes prior; in proper attire; prepared for constant concentration and visual surveillance of swimmers with no distractions. Work in harmony and cooperation with the staff, volunteers and members of the YMCA to develop team spirit and family atmosphere. May supervise Aquatics Aids Qualifications: High School (GED) preferred Minimum of 16 years of age with 6 months experience working with children. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability requires. First Aid and CPR Certificate, AED Certification, State Lifeguard Certification, and working towards: Oxygen Administered Certification YMCA Lifeguard Certification Aquatic instructor Certification (Required to be obtained within 6 months of hire date)
