CAMP DIRECTOR Camp Name: Camp Hough Camp Location: Silver Springs, NY Camp Description: The GLOW YMCA Camp Hough is a beautiful 12 acre property on the shores of Silver Lake in Wyoming County, New York. Operating as a seasonal resident and day camp with an extended season for Leadership Development through the Red Pines Leadership and Challenge Center, there is great potential to grow Camp Hough. We look forward to providing an exceptional camping experience for both returning and new resident and day campers, as well as adding to the Red Pines programming. Sponsoring YMCA: GLOW YMCA, Inc. YMCA Location: Batavia, NY Job Description and Required Certifications: The Camp Director will have an incredible opportunity to help blend the cherished traditions of this camp with new and exciting experiences for our campers. Reporting to the Director of the Wyoming County YMCA, the Camp Director will lead the team of camp staff throughout the summer, including recruiting, hiring and training staff in all areas: Red Pines staff, counselors, program areas, camp nurse, facilities management, food services, etc. The Camp Director will also be responsible for helping to promote the camp, recruit campers, and process registrations. In the months leading up to camp, as well as following camp, the camp director will be working out of the Wyoming County Y and/or with Red Pines Groups. From June-August, the position will be onsite at Camp Hough. REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for an experienced camp professional with a passion for making a difference in childrens lives, and a commitment to our vision for creating an exceptional camp program. Requirements: Bachelors degree in related field is required; Team Leader Certification preferred (or within the first year of employment). Experience in a camp setting is preferred.
