ASSISTANT COOK Camp Name: Camp MacLean Camp Location: Burlington, WI Camp Description: Spend time outdoors and indoors as experienced staff lead adventures that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body. Going to a summer camp is not only a memory that your child will cherish forever, but it also has the potential to change their life. As our children today are surrounded by modern technology, spending time in the great outdoors can be an eye-opening and rewarding experience. Summer camp allows your child the opportunity to learn new skills, form wonderful relationships with their peers and learn more about themselves. Sponsoring YMCA: YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago YMCA Location: Chicago, IL Job Description and Required Certifications: Under the direct supervision of the Cook and/or Camp Director, the Assist Cook assists cook with food preparation and cleanliness of the kitchen. Scope of Responsibilities: Prepare desserts and salads; help with baking and food preparation; clean and stack pantry shelves; supply butter, peanut butter, jelly, catsup, mustard, sugar, etc. as needed for meals; assist Cook in dishing out and serving food and getting second servings; after each meal: clean food serving counters, wash and disinfect counters, help put food away, clean toaster, mixer and slicer after each use, help clean stove; Daily: delegate and participate in wiping down walls and food areas, wipe dirty spots in and around refrigerator, spray out garbage cans; Weekly: scrub all shelves around serving counters, wood counters, pantry, food storage and refrigerator, clean ovens and stove, scrub down all exterior walls, wipe out all dish and pan storage shelves, clean exhaust vents over stoves; other duties as assigned by Cook and/or Camp Director.
