Job Description and Required Certifications: YMCA Camp Independence is a camp for children and adults with spina bifida. This is a summer seasonal resident camp counselor position for Camp Independence. This camp will serve campers aged 7-adults who have spina bifida. The resident camp counselor position will be in a 1:1 ratio or a 1:2 ratio with a camper(s). Responsibilities will include some lifting and assisting in personal care of each camper. Examples might include but not limited to; toileting, showering, lifting, dressing, etc. Each week will host 16 campers. Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of campers. Demonstrate leadership and actively participation in programs, skill periods, and other camp related activities. Serve as a program instructor and provide campers with a positive and wholesome role model.
Salary Information: $245-$260 per week
