Camp Description: The New York YMCA Camp serves a diverse group of children composed mostly of New York City children in a globally diverse community built upon the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our goal is for each child to enjoy safe adventures, make new friends and have joyful experiences every day. The New York YMCA Camp is located on 1,100 forested acres 86 miles northeast of New York City where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania share a border.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The YMCA of Greater New York is the largest youth-service organization in NYC. The organization has grown to encompass 21 branches and more than 140 sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City in addition to three camp sites and an upstate conference center. The New York YMCA Camp, located in upstate New York, is seeking for an individual who will be responsible for taking photographs and video recordings during the summer. RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate with the Village Director to document campers, program and community throughout each session, including meals, daily activities and evening programs. Take cabin photos during the first day of each camp session. Ability to identify publishable photographs of campers and camp staff. Participate in the planning and implementation of special events and scheduling photo sessions. Supervise campers in a manner which promotes an enjoyable and beneficial experience. Comfortable approaching and interacting with groups of children and adults. Ability to step in and assume regular cabin duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required; one year of college preferred. Must be over 18 years of age, with one to two years of relevant experience with photography. Previous camp experience preferred. Experience using a camera, editing programs and working independently. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Publisher and Photoshop. Excellent communications skills.
