OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAM STAFF Camp Name: Camp Pinewood Camp Location: Twin Lake, MI Camp Description: Traditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. The camp is nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest near Muskegon, Michigan. Its convenient but remote enough to ensure that everyone enjoys the natural beauty of the camps 200-acre facility. Sponsoring YMCA: Camp Pinewood YMCA YMCA Location: Twin Lake, MI Job Description and Required Certifications: Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting in the continued development of the Outdoor Education Program. Responsibilities include both Leadership, utilizing teambuilding, ropes and climbing wall, and Environmental Education. Candidate will be expected to facilitate teambuilding activities including, ropes (both high and low) and climbing programs. Responsible for teaching environmental education programs. Assist with weekend adventure programming and further development of all programs. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in environmental education, general education, recreation, or equivalent education experience. Course work towards a degree may also be acceptable. Ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with at least one year of experience facilitating Outdoor Education Programs. CPR/First Aid required. Lifeguard certification preferred. Candidate must possess the ability to perform moderate physical activity, adapt to changing work conditions, work with diverse groups of people, and work with minimal supervision.
