SUMMER DAY CAMP DIRECTOR Camp Name: Racine Family YMCA Summer Day Camp Camp Location: Mt Pleasant, WI Camp Description: held at Smolenski Park Sponsoring YMCA: Racine Family YMCA YMCA Location: Racine, WI Job Description and Required Certifications: This position is responsible for the planning, development, administration, and evaluation of the Racine Family YMCAs Summer Day Camp program. This position will require face-to-face as well as administrative leadership and role modeling. This is a seasonal part-time, non-exempt position Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The Summer Day Camp Director must: Must meet the Registrys educational credentials for the Child Care Administrator. High School Diploma/GED required Bachelor's degree preferred. Required three to five years of management/leadership experience. A combination of infant, toddler or preschool teaching experience. Strong leadership and supervisory skills Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create partnerships with families and staff. Well versed in NAEYC accreditation and licensing standards. Strong knowledge in and ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum Respond well to unusual or crisis situations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience building and maintaining relationships with families and staff. Computer literacy required. Job Segments Annual development and monthly monitoring of program budget. Recruit, train, and supervise part-time staff and volunteers. Develop and/or provide job descriptions for all positions. Develop and maintain community relationships with schools and other community outreach contacts. Keep appropriate enrollment, attendance, and participation records as well as personnel files. Keep all sites in compliance with state licensing guidelines while maintaining current childcare certifications. Complete required paperwork and reports in a timely manner with attention to professionalism.
