SAILING PROGRAM COORDINATOR Camp Name: Camp Abnaki Camp Location: Burlington, VT Camp Description: Camp Abnaki provides a traditional boys sleep away summer camp program, with an emphasis on character development, skill building and fun. Boys are provided with an experience designed to foster personal growth and independence. The friendships they make and memories they take away last a lifetime. Camp also offers a boys day camp program. Sponsoring YMCA: Greater Burlington YMCA YMCA Location: Burlington, VT Job Description and Required Certifications: The Sailing Director oversees all staff, campers, activities, equipment and facilities related to sailing at Camp Abnaki during the camping season. Candidates must have 2 years of sailing experience, preferably in a resident camp setting.Must have a working knowledge of sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and general boating. Must have US Sailing Instructor certification or equivalent. Certified Lifeguard preferred. Good health, vitality, maturity and moral character. Good coaching/teaching skills. Enjoy working with children and have the ability to understand the needs of campers while placing these needs (and those of camp) ahead of personal desires. Must find enjoyment in outdoor living and have an appreciation and understanding of the natural environment Salary Information: $300/wk plus room and board for 10 weeks beginning June 8th.
