CAMP COUNSELOR IN SPAIN Camp Name: YMCA Camp in Priego, Cuenca, and Camp Ordesa in Pirineo Camp Location: , CT Camp Description: YMCA of Spain Sponsoring YMCA: Camp Hazen YMCA YMCA Location: Chester, CT Job Description and Required Certifications: CAMP COUNSELORS PROGRAM WITH SPAIN YMCA LOCATION: YMCA Camp in Priego, Cuenca, and Camp Ordesa in Pirineo. DURATION: 5 weeks (June 24 July 29, 2013). PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: YMCA Spain is looking for dynamic and committed camp counselors for its summer camp programs. Camp counselors will plan and implement a quality program that promotes YMCA values and builds life skills of children and youth. In addition, they will teach conversational English to campers. A required one week orientation precedes the camp program, during which the counselors will be trained in the appropriated English teaching methodology and other activity skills. YMCA Spain will provide room and board, transportation to/from Madrid to Camp sites, and pocket money (up to 500 bi-monthly based on experience). Participants are responsible for international travel to/from Spain, as well as any other expenses after programs conclusion. Selected camp counselors must secure all travel documentation (Passport), tourist travel visa, a clear police background check, a clear national sex offender registry check and obtain comprehensive travel medical insurance before traveling to Spain. Copies of all documents must be received by YMCA España before arrival in Spain. IMPORTANT DATES: Orientation: June 24 30. Session 1: July 1 15. Session 2: July 15 29. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age: 20 years old. Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated experience in YMCA resident camp as a camp counselor or camp staff.
