Camp Description: 460-acres of ridges, valleys, ponds, streams and trails cover the property of YMCA Camp Mason. We are located in northwestern New Jersey just outside the 70,000-acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, one of the last true wilderness areas in the northeastern United States. This setting affords us almost limitless opportunities to engage in outdoor fun and promote living a conscious lifestyle.

Job Description and Required Certifications: Position Summary: The Assistant Ranch Director works closely with the Ranch Director, and in this role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of our barns, horses, equipment, and any staff or campers utilizing them, including but not limited to: supervising the care and maintenance of the ranch facilities, communicating with camper parents, and ensuring the health and viability of the herd. The Assistant Ranch Director does not live in a cabin with campers. The Assistant Ranch Director helps to set the tone for the equestrian program this position requires commitment to the YMCAs Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Previous experience in equestrian programs, other childcare or summer camp settings, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a positive attitude will contribute to success in this position. The Assistant Ranch Director reports to the Ranch Director. Requirements: Age 21+. Previous experience in equestrian, child care, or summer camp settings. Appropriate Certifications or Experience. Responsibilities: Help to organize training for all ranch staff during Work Week. Assist in organizing and teaching during Staff Week. See to the health and safety of all horses. See to the health and safety of all campers and staff participating in equestrian programming. Help to supervise and manage all ranch staff, including counselor specialists. Advise Camp Director on camper and staff morale and feedback. Other duties not specifically addressed in this document but deemed necessary by the Ranch Director.
Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience, starts @ $2250 w/room & board
