Camp Description: 460-acres of ridges, valleys, ponds, streams and trails cover the property of YMCA Camp Mason. We are located in northwestern New Jersey just outside the 70,000-acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, one of the last true wilderness areas in the northeastern United States. This setting affords us almost limitless opportunities to engage in outdoor fun and promote living a conscious lifestyle.

Job Description and Required Certifications: Senior Lifeguards work with the Aquatics Director, and are directly responsible for the day-to-day supervision of aquatics program participants, including but not limited to: lifeguarding, day and resident camp swim lessons, maintenance of the pool area, management of counselor lifeguard staff, and in-service lifeguard training. The position requires commitment to the YMCAs Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Previous experience in aquatics management/instruction, another childcare setting, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a positive attitude will contribute to success in this position. Senior Lifeguards report to the Aquatics Director. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Age 21+. Current Lifeguard and WSI certification. Previous experience in aquatics/pool management, aquatics instruction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Aquatics Director in planning and supervising a formal Aquatics Program, including swimming assessment, lessons, and achievement recognition for all participants. Supervise and manage counselor lifeguarding staff, including in-service training and schedules. Assist with general camp program as needed. Assist during the Day Camp Swim period. Assist during the Hardwick Town Swims (free swim for Hardwick Residents). Assist during Summer Splash program (lessons for local children). Other duties not addressed in this document but deemed necessary by the Camp or Program Director.
Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience, starts @ $2000 w/room & board
