SUMMER DAY CAMP FIELD TRIP COORDINATOR Camp Name: YMCA of WNC Summer Day Camp Camp Location: Asheville, NC Camp Description: Summer Day Camp at one of five locations in Buncombe County, NC Sponsoring YMCA: Child Care Services YMCA YMCA Location: Asheville, NC Job Description and Required Certifications: The Field Trip Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all field trips within the Summer Day Camp program serving youth ages 5-12. This position will manage all logistics of field trips, including creating and maintaining bus schedules, communication with parents, staff, and field trip destination personnel, and ensuring that all parties have everything needed to execute safe and successful field trips. The Field Trip Coordinator will also run field trips several times per week, operating in-ratio, leading a group of children. Incumbents will be responsible for ensuring that field trips in the summer camp program are in compliance with the mission and policies of the YMCA of Western North Carolina and State Licensing Regulations. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. An Associates or Bachelors degree with at least 15 credit hours in Education and two years of experience working with children in a camp or childcare setting are preferred. Field Trip Coordinators should have understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior, and development. This position requires strong communication, logistical, and organizational skills, and creativity and energy for daily implementation of summer camp programming. Applicants with a CDL are preferred. Staff must be available to start training the week of May 20th. Camp runs from June 4th August 20th, and preference will be given to those that can work the entire summer. Incumbents will be required to have American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications, or to complete these courses during staff trainings. Staff will receive up to 40 hours of mandatory training prior to the first day of camp. Salary Information: $10.50-$13.00/hr.
