Job Description and Required Certifications: Youth Development Mentors are responsible for ensuring that campers have a safe and fun summer. Staff will be required to lead traditional camp activities such as games, camp crafts, songs, archery, sports, adventure/team-building games, low ropes, and swimming. Youth Development Mentors will be primarily responsible for maintaining supervision of group, both on-site and during field trips to local attractions, as well as hikes in National Forests. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma. Prior summer camp experience with school-age children ages 5-12 is preferred. Youth Development Mentors must be available to start training the week of May 20th. Camp runs from June 4th August 20th, and preference will be given to those that can work the entire summer. Incumbents will be required to have American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications, or to complete these courses during staff trainings. Staff will receive up to 40 hours of mandatory training prior to the first day of camp. A Lifeguard certification is preferred.
Salary Information: $7.75-$8.50/hr.
