SEASONAL HEALTH OFFICER Camp Name: YMCA Camp Matawa Camp Location: Campbellsport, WI Camp Description: YMCA Camp Matawa is a fun, safe place where kids experience a wide variety of camp activities such as: horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, crafts, climbing, archery, and swimming-just to name a few! Sponsoring YMCA: YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee Inc. YMCA Location: Milwaukee, WI Job Description and Required Certifications: Major Responsibilities: Provide emergency first aid treatment for accidents or initial diagnosis of illness for all campers and staff, following standard operating procedures established by the Camp Doctor Ensure that more serious cases of accident and illness are referred to the Camp Doctor or Hospital, and parents Organize and administer individual camper's on-going prescription medical treatments. Be aware of the program demands on campers and staff in relation to weather, conduct periodic inspection of sanitation procedures, safety and risk management practices, report concerns to the Summer Camp Director Prepare YMCA incident reports, insurance claim forms, etc. as required Maintain a Health Center Treatment Log Prepare a written statement to parents of campers who have had medical treatment while at camp. Meet with parents if applicable Uphold and exemplify the principles of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, and be involved with the total scope of Camp Matawa programs/services as a team member Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor Responsible to adherence to all Camp/ YMCA policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations Qualifications: The Camp Health Officer must be a minimum of 21 years of age, a Registered Nurse (RN), or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certified Wisconsin LPN's must also have up to date nationally recognized standard First Aid or CPR Professional Certification, including AED and Oxygen administration certifications.
