Camp Description: Camp Jorn is located in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin and sits on over 70 acres overlooking Rest Lake, surrounded by the Northern Highland State Forest. We offer traditional camp experiences for children 8yrs-16yrs. Our mission is for all who engage in Camp Jorn YMCA experiences to recognize and develop value in themselves and in the world around them. At camp, we want our campers to get a chance to unplug from the world and learn what it means to be caring, honest, respectful, responsible, and grow as a person. We have been operating since 1953, and are celebrating our 60th anniversary this year! We welcome you to join our CJ family.

Job Description and Required Certifications: With the direction and guidance from the Camp Director, the Assistant Director will plan, direct, and manage the execution of all camp's core programs and instructional activities. The primary purpose of this position is to elevate the competency of all program delivery staff to ensure consistent instruction and progressive skill development for our campers. This Assistant Director will offer ongoing training, education, and support to each program area on a daily basis and will create written evaluations after each session. Requirements: 3-5 years of camp leadership or youth development experience. Abilities in organizing and supervising staff and campers in various camp activities. Knowledge of a wide variety of group games and initiatives that promote teamwork, group challenges, positive play and adventurous challenge for kids and staff. Desire and ability to work with children outdoors. Good character, integrity, and adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control. Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
Salary Information: Weekly rate based on experience and qualifications. Starting at $500/wk from June - Mid August, includes room & board
