To support the amenities listed, we have nine out buildings and 10 resident cabins that can house 220 people. Our riding center houses 50 horses year-round and we also have two archery ranges, a chapel, zip line, high ropes course, rock wall, along with three docks and a variety of boats

Job Description and Required Certifications: Lead Riding Instructor will assist in maintaining a safe and high quality horse program through effective leadership while teaching in arena lessons, trail rides, and all other activities for horse camp. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and involves early morning and evening responsibilities. This position runs from June-August, pay is $200/week and room and board is provided. KNOW HOW High School diploma or general education (GED) preferred; and documented training and experience with riding instruction. Past supervision experience preferred. Ability to interact with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages and lifestyles. Desire and ability to work with horses and children outdoors. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate switches Ensure safe and quality instruction by all instructors: Riding Lessons and Barn Lessons Facilitate horses getting needed supplements, medications, fly spray, sunscreen, etc. Facilitate horses being watered appropriately Help facilitate Sunday evening riding tests and groupings Help facilitate Monday morning riding tests and groupings Help facilitate end of week riding tests Help put together folders on Thursday evenings Teach community lessons Help facilitate evening horse/tack switch Help facilitate clean, organized, safe quality program Help ensure that Thursday and Friday evening parent horse shows are organized and quality Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operations of Camp Manitou-Lin. ABILITY REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactory perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk up to 3 miles without rest, and mount and dismount without assistance. CERTIFICATIONS Cardio Pulmonary Recitation (CPR)/First Aid certificaiton preferred Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) preferred
