ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE CAMP DIRECTOR Camp Name: YMCA Camp Cullent Camp Location: Trinity, TX Camp Description: Nestled among the tall pines on 530 acres along the shores of Lake Livingston, YMCA Camp Cullen offers boys and girls ages 8-16 the experience of a lifetime. Campers take part in a wide range of activities including water sports, horseback riding, a ropes course, nature exploration, drama and so much more. In addition to the many fun activities available, the campers also gather as a cabin group each day where they play, learn and bond together while participating in fun activities like campfires and scavenger hunts. Sponsoring YMCA: YMCA of the Greater Houston Area YMCA Location: Houston, TX Job Description and Required Certifications: YMCA Camp Cullen has been serving the youth of Houston and surrounding areas for over 40 years. After undergoing a major remodel we are excited to say that our doors will reopen early 2013. We are currently seeking to build our staff beginning with the Full Time position of Associate Executive Camp Director. The primary functions of this job include but are not limited to: design, deliver and evaluate camp programs; develop, monitor and meet budget for the camp operations; assist with marketing plan to increase camper attendance and camp usage; recruit, hire, train and supervise seasonal, non-exempt and exempt staff; oversees the daily operation of the summer resident camp including food service, program, health care and camper and staff supervision; work collaboratively with internal and external groups to ensure the enhancement of the camp operation; represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Qualified candidates will have the following: Bachelor's degree in recreation, education, business or other related field preferred and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Seven or more years of progressing management experience, preferably in a YMCA, other not-for-profit agency or residence camp environment; Ability to direct operations including supervision of staff, development and monitoring of camp budget, and program schedule development; knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations. YMCA Multi-Team or Center Leader certification is preferred and CPR and First Aid certifications may be required. In addition the Camp Associate Director is required to live on the camp property year round. Salary Information: $49,607 - $62,000 The YMCA of Greater Houston pays 12% retirement and offers medical, life, dental, vision, paid holidays, and much more!
