The Origin of Selfies (And Why You Should Care)

Selfies, they're everywhere. But where did they come from?

If you're a Millennial that's, say, 18 or 19, then selfies have been a part of your life experience since forever. But where did they come from? Well, we can thank the Australians for giving us the word, and - in fact - the first appearance of the word surfaced in one of the country's online news channels around 2002.
While some people think selfies lean towards a narcissistic, selfish generation, we say our young Y leaders and friends are spinning this digital phenomenon into something positive, inspiring, and hopeful. And we have some Twitter proof of all the "me, me, me" goodness:
