What do you do to recharge?

Mommying is constant. There’s no way around it. Even when you’re not actively with your kids, you’re thinking about them, worrying about them, planning for them… you get it, you’re living it!

We have to be whole to be able to give to others. If fresh air and a little movement are what you need, take a walk around the block or do a few sun salutations. If you need an escape, lose yourself in a book (I loved Jhumpa Lahiri’s newest novel, The Lowland), draw a bubble bath, or linger at a coffee shop over a foamy drink. Call a friend. Run an errand. Take a nap. Listen to a podcast (you might like this one). Do what you did when you were just you. Setting aside some time to replenish yourself is just as important as anything else you can do for your kids.

What do you do to recharge?

Andrea Lee is a mom who’s winging it, just like everyone else.
